The future workforce is taking flight in Philadelphia!
Grace3 Technologies was proud to participate in the School District of Philadelphia's sixth annual Dare to Dream Career Week, an impactful event launched in partnership with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and the City of Philadelphia. This week-long initiative provides high school students with interactive panels and demos, connecting them directly with dynamic career pathways across local companies and city departments.
A Special Stop in West Philly
The highlight of our participation was hosting a special edition of our Soar Seminary program—our hands-on, in-school-time aviation and robotics education curriculum.
This year's Soar Seminary took place at the stunning, newly opened TGR Learning Lab at the Cobbs Creek Golf and Education Campus in West Philadelphia—a new STEM Lab inspired by Tiger Woods. This inspiring venue, dedicated to empowering youth through education, was the perfect backdrop for our cutting-edge tech demonstration.
Autonomy Meets Opportunity
Working alongside our vital partners, Skydio and the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD), Grace3 delivered an immersive experience that highlighted the intersection of technology and public safety.
Students got up close and personal with the Skydio X10, the autonomous drone used by the PPD's Drone as First Responder (DFR) program. They learned about:
- Drone Aviation Careers: Understanding the required skills and certifications for becoming a professional drone pilot or technician.
- Real-World Application: Seeing how the PPD uses autonomous technology to enhance situational awareness, locate missing persons, and improve officer and community safety.
- Hands-on Robotics: Direct interaction with the equipment offered students a tangible connection to the high-tech, high-growth careers available in the rapidly expanding drone industry.
Dare to Dream Career Week is all about showing students what's possible. By bringing the technology and the operators directly into the Tiger Woods Learning Lab-Philadelphia, Grace3, Skydio, and the PPD provided a clear, exciting path for students to turn their interest in technology into a rewarding career.
We believe that exposure and access are the keys to equity in the tech sector, and the success of this year's Soar Seminary at Career Week proves that Philadelphia's next generation is ready to soar!
